margin-left: 0px;\">\u201cIf you\u2019re listening, you\u2019re too late,\u201d claim the grim posters for the controversial Netflix Original Series\u00a0<em>13 Reasons Why<\/em>, which dropped its second season in late May, and has just been renewed for a third season.<\/p><p style=\"margin-right: 0px; margin-left: 0px;\">The widespread popularity of\u00a0<em>13 Reasons Why\u2014<\/em>which chronicles the lead up to and fallout of a high schooler\u2019s suicide\u2014suggests that it has touched a nerve in our culture. With its themes of suicide, bullying, sexual assault and rape, and revenge, the world of\u00a0<em>13 Reasons Why\u00a0<\/em>is a brutal one, offering very little hope or encouragement to those struggling with depression or suicidal thoughts. In a world that can feel overwhelmed with pain, tragedy, and the brokenness that comes with sin, it can be all too easy to see reasons to give up, and all too hard to remember the reasons to keep going.<\/p><p style=\"margin-right: 0px; margin-left: 0px;\">Thankfully, the Word of God offers a myriad of reasons to hope, persist, and persevere\u2014even in the face of troubles and trials, even when situations feel hopeless or overwhelming, even when it feels like it\u2019s too late. But the\u00a0<a style=\"transition: color 0.3s ease-in-out, background-color 0.3s ease-in-out, border-color 0.3s ease-in-out, opacity 0.3s ease-in-out, visibility 0.3s ease-in-out, box-shadow 0.3s ease-in-out; cursor: pointer;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblica.com\/online-bible\/\">Bible<\/a>\u00a0affirms that there is hope in God\u2019s promises, love, and faithfulness. Hope is a powerful antidote to despair and feelings of meaninglessness. God promises that there is hope for the future, and that God will \u201cwipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain\u201d (Revelation 21:4, NIV).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-230107a elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"230107a\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-3eb4184\" data-id=\"3eb4184\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1cc49e0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"1cc49e0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">2. Pain does not last forever<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8369cf4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8369cf4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>However overwhelming despair may feel in the moment, it will not continue without end. The organization\u00a0<em>Screening for Mental Health<\/em>\u00a0states that \u201cthe impulse to end it all, however overpowering, does not last forever.\u201d Psalm 30:5 says \u201cweeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.\u201d Though the rejoicing does not always come as soon as we might hope, God promises that the weeping will not endure forever.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-33464fa elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"33464fa\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-882d21b\" data-id=\"882d21b\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3e18410 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3e18410\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">3. God hears your cries<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-319df10 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"319df10\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>It can be easy to feel like God is silent, or far away from the experiences of your life. However, the Bible promises that \u201cthe righteous cry out, and the\u00a0Lord\u00a0hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The\u00a0Lord\u00a0is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit\u201d (Psalm 34:17-18, NIV). Suffering does not go unnoticed by God; in fact, God is particularly close to the brokenhearted.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-c4b44af elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"c4b44af\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-090ab88\" data-id=\"090ab88\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-15715bb elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"15715bb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">4. Jesus knows what it's like to suffer<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6b199ee elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6b199ee\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Not only does Jesus hear the pain of the brokenhearted, but He also empathetically understands what it is like to suffer. From personal betrayal to physical pain, Jesus experienced what it means to be human. In the Garden of Gethsemane before Jesus was arrested, Luke 22:44 says, \u201cAnd being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.\u201d Jesus felt\u00a0<em>anguish.<\/em>\u00a0Many believe his \u2018sweat like drops of blood\u2019 came from extreme anxiety that He was feeling. Your feelings are not incomprehensible to God, and you are not alone.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-645dfef elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"645dfef\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-d48cb03\" data-id=\"d48cb03\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9b96e65 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"9b96e65\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">5. God is true, in spite of how you feel<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1b4f7aa elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1b4f7aa\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Emotions can be incredibly powerful and can alter our perception of our reality. While times of depression or struggle may lead you to doubt God\u2019s goodness and faithfulness, remember that God promises that \u201che is the faithful God,\u00a0keeping his covenant of love\u00a0to a thousand generations\u00a0of those who love him and keep his commandments\u201d (Deuteronomy 7:9, NIV). God is faithful and true, even if you don\u2019t feel it in this season.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-e068499 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"e068499\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-405e3d2\" data-id=\"405e3d2\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-980ab67 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"980ab67\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">6. Just because God seems silent doesn't mean God is absent<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1680859 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1680859\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In the book of Job, Job bemoans the apparent absence of God in the face of his suffering, saying \u201cBut if I go to the east, he is not there; if I go to the west, I do not find him. When he is at work in the north, I do not see him; when he turns to the south, I catch no glimpse of him\u201d (Job 23:8-9, NIV). However, the thought doesn\u2019t end there. Job goes on to say \u201cBut he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold\u201d (Job 23:10, NIV). Just because you do not sense the presence of God doesn\u2019t mean God does not know what you are feeling and experiencing, or that God doesn\u2019t have a plan for your life.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-2188c03 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"2188c03\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-f0cb87f\" data-id=\"f0cb87f\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d502520 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d502520\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">7. Nothing can separate you from the love of God<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6e64469 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6e64469\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In the grip of depression, anxiety, or pain, you can doubt your own lovability and self-worth. The Bible assures us that \u201cneither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future,\u00a0nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God\u00a0that is in Christ Jesus our Lord\u201d (Romans 8:38-39, NIV). No situation or feeling can take away the love that God has for you.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-8c8cb26 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"8c8cb26\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-cd3d392\" data-id=\"cd3d392\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cd08a91 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"cd08a91\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">8.
